Statement on Show Content
We believe that theater should not only entertain but educate as well. While we would never stage a production with the intention of offending anyone, some content, storyline, or characters may be offensive to some. For this we apologize.
However, there are productions written about certain time periods or containing subject matter that by today’s standards may not be politically correct. These types of productions will not be abandoned. For example: The Face of Emmett Till, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Diary of Anne Frank.
These types of productions can not only entertain but help facilitate discussion about a time or subject in our history. Without acknowledging or accepting the past, you can never truly move forward.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana
